Superintendent – Commercial Construction

The Construction Superintendent manages the project jobsite workforce to ensure an orderly flow of work, sequence of operation, project safety and quality of work with the goal of achieving the scheduled completion date within budget. Minimum job requirements and Responsibilities are outlined below.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a lead Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and documentation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the job site from inception through completion.
  • Enforce safety protocols to ensure job site consistently meets or exceeds OSHA safety standards.
  • Coordinate and direct subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers.
  • Coordinate, monitor and drive the project schedule.
  • Adhere to daily, weekly reporting requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal lots.
  • Monitor and inspect quality control of work in place and its’ adherence to the construction documents, and project requirements.
  • Solve problems in a fair and decisive manner.
  • Maintain a neat, organized job site.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner, always demonstrating leadership and integrity.
  • Promote good communication and positive relationships with all project team members including architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors and most importantly the project owner (s).
