Estimator – Commercial Construction
Job Description:
Metro Green Construction, an Atlanta-based Commercial General Contracting company, is growing! We are looking for a bright, dynamic and disciplined individual to fill an Estimator position. This role at Metro Green has unlimited potential for the right candidate and an opportunity to collaborate with the CEO of the company in cultivating and developing key business relationships tied to revenue generation. The ideal candidate is currently in an Estimating position with an Atlanta based Commercial General Contractor and feel they are ready to take on more responsibility.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree in Construction Management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
- Experience with Conceptual Estimating and some Pre-construction Services
- Minimum 4 years experience as an Estimator for an established General Contractor in the Atlanta Market.
- Familiar with pricing Construction Manager at Risk, Design/Build, and Hard Bid delivery methods
- Proficient with electronic communication and devices.
- Comfortable speaking in front of a crowd of people
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications including Project
- Experience using Procore Bidding Tools preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret Construction Drawings and Specifications.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize duties under pressure.
- Ability to work as a part of a Team while maintaining flexibility, a high level of detail, and a positive attitude.
Job Duties:
- Scrub design drawings & specs by trade and assemble bid packages
- Solicit Subcontractors and Vendors for pricing all scopes of work; ensure sufficient coverage
- Review and evaluate Subcontractor and Vendor proposals to ensure the scope of work is covered and minimize the risk of scope gaps or double coverage.
- Provide complete quantity take-offs, analysis, and pricing for various construction scopes; including General Conditions
- Work with the team in the development of detailed scopes of work
- Take the lead in preparing a detailed estimate by scope division and produce a complete Contract\Bid Proposal Package
- Manage multiple projects in varying states of design simultaneously
- Participate in Presentations and Project Interviews
- Oversee future entry-level estimators, as needed.
- Complete preliminary scheduling of project construction.
- Assist the CEO as the Primary Point of Contact and Lead Person for the Pre-construction effort on all types of projects.
